Project meeting in Turkey

At the beginning of April took place the first meeting of the partners of the Leonardo da Vinci project "Giving Breath To Buildings". The meeting place was one of the fastest growing city in Turkey - Adiyaman. From Adiyaman is one of our project partners - Adiyaman University, Faculty of Technology. In the meeting there was also the other project partner from Italy - Istituto d'Istruzione Superiore "Orazio Notarangelo-Giuseppe Rosati".

Study visit to Germany

 

In February I visited Germany - the city of Leipzig and its surroundings. It was a study visit granted by the Lifelong Learning Programme Grundtvig with the purpose to visit the reuse centre of historical building materials and to visit different companies dealing with ecological building and restoring near Leipzig.

House in a manor

 

We had a pleasure and honor to work in a nice manor in Järvamaa. The manor from the 18th century fascinated us with its restoring style and with its nature. We enjoyed it all until the Christmas last year when the finishing works in a room in the Esna manor ended.

Interior finishing in Kadriorg

 

One of the great projects of this summer were the interior finishing works in Poska 9. We begun in March 2011 and finished in October. We used good traditional materials typical at the time when the house was built. We finished 5 apartments and the staircase.

Courses in autumn-winter

 

The autumn is here and our new course season is beginning. The main topics in November are ovens, renewable energy and blacksmithing. In December we focus on natural finishing.

Pavilion of old material and outdoor fireplace

By the instructions of our craftsman there was built a pavilion of old material and a Rumford outdoor fireplace to the backyard of a Tallinn type house in the valuable area Veerenni. The buildets were the habitants of the house who had a lot of discovering joy.

Summer workshop "Innovative use of natural building materials"

We organised international workshop "Innovative use of natural building materials" on 7-18  August. We had 15 participants from 9 countries: Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and England. The project was supported by the life-long learning programme Grundtvig. The project partner was NPO Equilibre.

Facade works of Nõmme type house

 

We have finished one big project of this summer - facade works of a functionalistic house at the heart of Nõmme, on Liiva street. The old house got a new plastered facade of 300 m2.
